Nim lives on a secret island with her marine scientist father. She loves spending time with her friends and reading Alex Rover's adventure stories. But things take an unfortunate turn when her father who is away for research gets stuck in a storm.

Desperate and alone she writes to Alex, hoping he would help. What she does not know is that Alex is a germaphobic and agoraphobic woman who rarely steps out of her home - all the stories are fiction!

Will Alex be able to overcome her fears and help her little fan who is in distress?
