The Mauritanian: Can innocence guarantee freedom?
The Fighter: Based On A True Story
Micky Ward is a young boxer, trained by his elder half-brother Dicky, and managed by his mother. His confidence is running low - things get worse when he is made to fight a boxer clearly above his weight category, and he loses.
The dominating ways of his mother, and the drug addiction of his brother have destroyed him, leaving him a man with no confidence in his ability.
But, but when there is and incident with the police, because of Dicky, that leaves him with a broken hand, Micky decides to go on his own and signs up with an agency.
As the agency gets him into fights which are more reasonable, his confidence develops. But he is missing Dicky's tactical genius. He needs him to defeat the boxers who are lined up ahead.
Rating: Green - a very well-made movie that shows you the ugly side of drug addiction, while staying true as a sports movie. This movie is about true sportsman spirit! Must watch!
PS: As is usual with real-life based movies, specially period movies, this movie may also have errors in places, some unintentional, and some intentional as the makers might have taken creative freedom.
