The Mauritanian: Can innocence guarantee freedom?
Mohamedou Ould Slahi was in Mauritania attending a wedding in the family. He was taken for questioning by the local police but never returned home.
Years later he was found in Guantanamo Bay prison, and his family have managed to get Nancy Hollander to take up his case. She, along with her assistant Teri, visit Gitmo to meet Slahi.
Meanwhile the US government has started action against Gitmo prisoners. And, the first case they lay their hands on is Slahi. Stuart Couch is representing the prosecution, doing his research, trying to get access to the actual evidence.
Is Slahi innocent? Will he get freedom?
