Al Roberts is a nightclub Pianist, his girlfriend is in Hollywood. He is hitch-hiking his way to meet her. Charles, the gambler he is travelling with dies mysteriously. As he is afraid of what the police might do, he takes over the man's identity. But Vera figures this out, and blackmails him.

Will he be able to get out of the mess and reach Sue?
