Rani has paid an enormous amount of money to buy a beautiful bride Janki for her son Gulab - she kept everything she owned as a collateral for it. But on the day of the marriage they find that Janki's hair are all cut - because of which people laugh at her, and Gulab starts hating both of them. Laajo her friend meanwhile is mocked by everyone for being 'infertile'. And, Bijli her other friend, who is a famous performer and prostitute has her own struggles as her manager gets a new prostitute.
