The Mauritanian: Can innocence guarantee freedom?
The Remains of the Day: Picking life out of memories
Stevens, the Butler, has dedicated his life to his master - Lord Darlington. He has lived a life of blind servitude, completely dry and expressionless. Miss Kenton, his new assistant, has a very different personality - she is brilliant, warm and talkative.
Lord Darlington is involved in international politics in the time before second world war. And, he is supporting the Nazis, he is trusting them. He believes there will be no more. He is not a bad man, just naive.
Miss Kenton, meanwhile, is developing feelings for Stevens. Will Stevens respond? Will he continue with Lord Darlington in spite of his tragic preferences?
Rating: Green - a decent story brought to life by brilliant acting and great direction. Must watch!
