After saving Xandar, the Guardians of the Galaxy are now officially so. And, they do paid jobs of saving the galaxy from inter-galactic attacks. On one such mission Rocket surreptitiously steals what they were protecting. This leads them to be attacked from all ends. In this chaos they are protected by a mysterious being.

It turns out that the mysterious being is a celestial, and father of Peter. This leads to a number of unexpected revelations about who he is and about his past. And they are about to discover another major danger to the galaxy.
