It's the year 2045, people have found escape from the harsh realities in the form of OASIS - a virtual world where everyone can be what they want to be. James Halliday, the creator of the OASIS, realized the power the owner of OASIS could wield on the future of the world and wanted to make sure that only someone worthy of it is able to get it after he is gone. So he designed a race.

Wade Watts, who goes by the name Parzival is the biggest fanboy of James, and wants to win the race as well. So do his virtual friend Aech, Artemis, Sho, Daito and many others. And, also Sorrento who is currently the owner of IOI the biggest competitor of OASIS - who wants to take over the world after winning the race.

Wade must win the race, to save the world from the evil Sorrento. Will he succeed?
