The Mauritanian: Can innocence guarantee freedom?
Ip Man: In The Last Great War, One Man Defied An Empire
Ip Man is a legendary martial arts fighter - the holder of the secrets of Wing Chun Kung Fu. However, during the second world war, when China is invaded by Japan, his family goes through hardship - he loses all his wealth, and works as a laborer to earn bread for his family.
Things get complicated when the factories of one of his friends is attacked by rebels who threaten to kill him and his workers, if he doesn't pay up. Ip Man trains his staff in martial arts so that they can defend themselves.
And, so the legend grows. When one of his co-workers is killed during a martial arts show for a general, he goes there to avenge, and find out what is happening.
Rating: Green - a decent story, with great action sequences. Must watch!
PS: As is usual with real-life based movies, specially period movies, this movie may also have errors in places, some unintentional, and some intentional as the makers might have taken creative freedom.
