Jaguar Paw is the son of the tribal chief of a Mayan-era tribe. Their life is going as usual, when the tribe is attacked by a group of warriors who want human beings, to serve as slaves and for sacrifice. Everyone is murdered or taken, except Jaguar's pregnant wife and child, whom he manages to hide in a dry hole.

But, he must escape and get back to her before it rains! Will he succeed?
